FOUR ETERNALLY SIGNIFICANT FACTS TO UNDERSTAND ABOUT FORGIVENESS AND THE JUDGMENT AND YOURSELF

According to a study by the Mayo Clinic holding a grudge appears to affect the cardiovascular and nervous systems. In one study, people who focused on a personal grudge had elevated blood pressure and heart rates, as well as increased muscle tension and feelings of being less in control.(1) Holding a grudge is refusing to forgive.

WHAT IS FORGIVENESS ?
WHY IS FORGIVENESS IMPORTANT ?
WHO NEEDS FORGIVENESS ?

FORGIVENESS - The pardon of an offender, by which he is considered and treated as not guilty.

And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy, Son be of good cheer thy sins be forgiven thee. Matthew 9:2

The forgiveness of God is sweeter to the believing sinner than a thousand unfading, fragrant roses growing in a field of scented lilies and lilacs. Nothing is more precious or more liberating or inspiring than the forgiveness in the love of God, Forgiveness among human beings is unlike the forgiveness of God which is powerful enough to transform a person's character. The Bible refers specifically to forgiveness 7 times in verses about sin, salvation and the Savior.

Here are four Bible facts about forgiveness that we will consider and explore:

1. Forgiveness can relieve suffering of the mind and suffering of the body
2. Human beings need forgiveness because human beings offend each other
3. Human beings need forgiveness because human beings offend God
4. Any sin can be forgiven by God except the sin that a person does not repent of.

4 - THE PERSUASIVE POWER OF THE LOVE OF CHRIST: CASE STUDY = WOMAN CAUGHT IN ADULTERY

The persuasive power of the love of Christ can be seen in the case of the woman caught in adultery. And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou ? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers ? hath no man condemned thee ? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (John 8:3-11)

There was persuasive power in Christ's words, "neither do I condemn thee." There was no condemnation from Jesus and none of her accusers were left. What could the love Christ persuade her to do ? Go and sin no more. There is persuasive power in the love of Christ that will lead to a transformation of a person's life if the power of His love is not resisted. Jesus knew that already and that is why He said, "go and sin no more." The power and the inspiration were in His very words.

Have you believed and accepted the words of Jesus Christ to you ? Is your life being transformed by the persuasive power of His love ?

If you have not done so already or if you have backslidden toward the world and are now worldly...please in the name of Jesus awake and stay alert if you are awake.

Please...surrender your heart to God while there is still time; surrender your thoughts and feelings to Jesus Christ the one who loves you and died in order for you and I to be able to obtain victory over all sin and selfishness in our lives...God loves you..God wants you...Not just to be forgiven...Not to play church, but to truly become Christ-like before you die so that you can be prepared to enjoy eternity with Him. A Christlike person is the only kind of person that could enjoy heaven and the only kind of person that could be trusted in heaven.

Pray like this - Father in heaven, I am a sinner and I believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. I accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior right now and I ask you to give me a new heart. New motives, new desires and new purposes that will be in harmony with your law of 10 commandments.
