According to the Bible, the purpose of God was revealed in Jesus before the world even began. Not only was the purpose of God revealed in Jesus Christ, but the idea of immortality was brought to light as well. The possibility of human beings becoming immortal is taught by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not
according to our works, but according
to his own purpose and grace, which
was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ,
who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: (2 Timothy

Thank you sharing what God has put on your heart. I have a question...can one still live on purpose and still live in the moment? God created us (you, me) to please Him and to live for Him. The purpose of the things we do should line up with this purpose for our lives. It is each person's responsibility to do things that honor Jesus Christ, with motives that honor Him using methods that honor Him. Proverbs 19:21 says "many are the plans in a man's heart, but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails." So would you agree that one could possibly live in the moment and still live on purpose?

The article is addressing a philosophy of thinking that is current in many places. See the following for a commonly held view of "living in the moment".

The article isn't addressing a variety of human purposes. It isn't addressing human purposes at all. The articles are unfolding the purpose of life as defined by God.
Sure one can live according to God's purpose and experience the fullness of each moment. It's just that Christians, not only live according to God's purpose for life, enjoying each moment, but we also look with delightful expectation to an even more fulfilling future.

Thank you for responding. Before commenting, I should have asked you the question, what you meant by living in the moment. While I do not share the philosophy or the commonly held view of "living in the moment" I should have known this article is not meant for Christians, but to those who are not called. Those who are still in darkness. This article is meant to be a teachable moment for those seeking a new life and to some who profess to be Christians but maybe struggling with certain issues. You talked about those of us that are homeless, jobless, broke, disgusted and living paycheck to paycheck. Now that I understand what you call living in the moment, this blog gives encouragement to us because of certain circumstances to not "live in the moment". God bless
